Rising Stars of Women in Web Award

We are pleased to announce the Rising Stars of Women in Web Award, recognizing exceptional early- and mid-career women making significant contributions to web technologies, research, and innovation. This award honors emerging leaders who are shaping the future of web research through their impactful work in academia, industry, or open-source communities.


Note: Finalists and the award recipient are expected to attend and deliver a speech in person if selected. However, this program does not provide travel support.


Eligibility:

  • Female early-career researchers within 10 years post-PhD
  • Published at The Web Conference within the past 10 years
  • Able to attend the WWW25 – Women in Web session in person


Significant contributions to web-related fields, including but not limited to:

  • Web development, standards, and security
  • AI and machine learning for the web
  • Internet governance and digital inclusion
  • Human-computer interaction and web accessibility
  • Data science, ethics, and privacy on the web
  • Demonstrated leadership, innovation, or community impact


Submission Requirements:

  • A short biography (max 500 words)
  • A statement (max 500 words) highlighting contributions, achievements, and impact


Key Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Apr 1, 2025 
  • Award Announcement: April 10, 2025 


How to Apply:

Submit your application via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=www25companion, and follow these steps:

  1. Select "New Submission" and choose the track: WWW25 – Women in Web.
  2. Enter your personal details under "Author."
  3. Provide the title of your research statement under "Title."
  4. List relevant key research topics under "Keywords."
  5. Upload a single PDF file containing both your short biography and research statement.
