The ACM Web Conference (formerly WWW conference) is a yearly international conference on the topic of the future directions of the World Wide Web.
Over the past three decades, The Web Conference has been the forum where some of the most fundamental Web technologies have been introduced, such as the Anatomy of a Large Scale Web Search Engine in 1998 prefiguring Google, the EigenTrust algorithm in 2003 and the YAGO knowledge base in 2007 (see also the Test of Time Award past recipients). The conference assembles scholars, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and end-users with one unifying goal: to envision and create the future of the Web.
The 2025 ACM Web Conference in Australia will offer a high quality program made of research sessions, posters and demonstrations, a PhD symposium for the junior scholars, workshops, tutorials, industry track, web developers track for the practitioners as well as thought provoking keynote speakers, panels. Additionally there will be special tracks on Web for Good and History of the Web as well as special days focused on specific themes. The conference will be in-person with rich virtual elements.
Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of The Web Conference, our speakers and attendees are a highly diverse group affiliated with academia, industry, government agencies, NGOs and, most uniquely, international institutions such as the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The Web Conference regularly attracts 1,000 attendees or more. In particular, we expect delegates in these broad categories:
The work presented in The Web Conference is consistently high quality and impactful, often outranking venues specifically dedicated to focused fields of study. Computed with the weighted citations from the Open Academic Graph, The Web Conference is ranked in the top 10 of the general Computer Science conferences, and despite the interdisciplinary nature, is ranked consistently high in the scientific areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, large scale computing, human computer interaction, information retrieval, recommender systems, and social networking and computing. As a result, The Web Conference is widely recognized as the top tier venue for scientific publication, resulting in a large submission pool each year. The acceptance rates for the past several years are hovering in the low teens percentage, making the conference one of the most selective computer science venues.
We will provide opportunities for our sponsors, exhibitors, and partners to be involved in conference activities and engage directly with our delegates. We are at your disposal to help you build a partnership that will best fit your needs.
